Unique Identifier (uid)

Attribute details

AD uid attribute properties, usage and population rules
Definition: Unique identifier assigned to every entry in the directory.

The uid is used as the relative distinguished name (RDN) for entries in the Enterprise Directory people branch. This identifier is also stored in AUTH and Azure for cross-referencing but it does not serve as the RDN in these two directories.

Multiple Values: Multi-valued (treated as Single-valued)
Format: case-insensitive Unicode String (equivalent to Directory String)

Value is a 32-character hexadecimal string.
